Film review: Slumdog millionaire

The film “slumdog millionaire”, which was awarded with 8 Oscars, was released in 2008 and had been directed by Danny Boyle. The main characters are Jamal, Salim and Latika, that are played by Dev Patel, Madhur Mittal and Freida Pintal. The genre of slumdog millionaire is love.

The film is about two young boys, who live in a slum in Mumbay. After a few men have killed their mother the two boys called Jamal and Salim have to live on their own. The same happens to Latika, so Jamal tells her to come with them. The time passes and suddenly a polite man took them into a sort of orphanage. At this time, they don’t know, that this man is gangster. Salim recognises this after a time and runs away together with Jamal. To Latikas bad luck, she wasn’t able to flee................

I liked the film very much, because the story is good and because it has a happy end. What I also liked is the message! Because it tells you, that nothing is impossible. 

The Austrian school system

age	5-6	6-9	9-14	14-18
grade	Kindergarden or Vorschule(In these two schools you get prepared for Volkschule)	Volkschule(Here the compulsory school starts and you learn everything you need further in your schooldays.)	Hauptschule, Mittelschule(You have to visit one of these two schools to go to polytechnische Schule, Berufsschule or HTL. But if you have visited Vorschule you don’t have to go to school anymore.	Polytechnische Schule(You stay there for one year and if you didn’t visit Vorschule you don’t have to go to school after this year anymore.)   Berufsschule(You stay there for 4 years and you learn all these things you need on the job in which you will be trained.) HTL(This is a school like Berufschule, but here you are able to sit the Matura(a exam that allows you to go to university)and you have to go to HTL for 5 years and not only for 4.)
			Gymnasium Here you are also able to sit the Matura. After this school you have got a general education.

The school I visit is called Tanzenberg. Tanzenberg is a humanistic Gymnasium, that lays on a small mountain in Carinthia. Because there isn’t a town so near in Tanzenberg we have got a pristine nature. This is one of many things, why I like Tanzenberg much more, than other Gymnasiums.

The book, which I have choosen is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, that was written by Roald Dahl. When I first looked at the cover of the book, I thought, that the action is very funny. According to the picture a boy gets a very special thing, that makes him feel happy. I’m looking forward to start reading and I hope, that the action is the same as I think.

Music

My favourite style of music is pop, but I also like Rock and Reggae. So you can say, that I like many kinds of music.

I really like bands such as „Guns‘ n‘ Roses“, „AC/DC“ or „Die Atzen“. These bands are quite good, and I really like their songs, because they sound good, make you feel happy and it is simply fun to listen to this songs . My favourite song is: „Knocking on heaven’s door“ by Guns‘ n‘ Roses. This song is my favourite, because the lyrics are good and many other things ,such as  the instruments. This band is a really good band, though the members aren’t the „youngest“.

They have very great voices. Maybe they don’t sound as good as a Pop singer, but they are Rock singers. So when you hear Rock songs the voices of the singers sound like this.

But I don’t only listen to Rock music. In my free time I often listen to the radio, because  you don't have to have an iPod or mp3- player and on the radio there are many different kinds of music. There is also another point why it’s good to listen to radio: There are songs, that were popular many years ago. So it can happened, that you hear this song and then you say,“Oh, I really like this song. This is my new favourite song!“

Musik is all over the world and probably everybody likes musik, because music makes you simply happy.
